Therapy is offered in three formats to suit different preferences:
In-person at the clinic in Innisfil.
Virtual via secure video platform.
Walk & Talk sessions outdoors, combining movement with conversation.
Each session is private and tailored to the individual’s needs and goals. The approach is conversational and supportive, aimed at helping clients understand their feelings, develop coping strategies, and improve day-to-day functioning.
Couples Counselling/Psychotherapy
Sessions are led by Karen Szabo, MACP, RP (#13705), a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology.
The service supports couples navigating relationship difficulties, including:
Communication breakdowns – frequent misunderstandings, arguments, or feeling unheard.
Conflict patterns – repeated fights over the same issues, such as money, parenting, or intimacy.
Emotional distance – growing apart, lack of connection, or feeling more like roommates than partners.
Trust issues – challenges after infidelity, broken promises, or ongoing doubt.
Life transitions – stress from new parenthood, job changes, empty nesting, or blending families.
Intimacy concerns – reduced affection, mismatched desire, or difficulty expressing needs.
Anger and resentment – built-up frustration that leads to withdrawal or escalation.
Couples therapy is offered in three formats:
In-person at the clinic in Innisfil.
Virtual via secure video platform (both partners join from the same or separate locations).
Walk & Talk sessions outdoors, allowing movement during discussion if preferred.
Sessions are structured to create a neutral, non-blaming space where both partners can speak openly. The focus is on understanding each person’s perspective, identifying unhelpful patterns, and building practical skills — such as active listening, expressing needs clearly, and managing conflict constructively.
The process typically begins with individual intake forms, followed by joint sessions. Goals are set collaboratively, whether that’s improving daily interactions, rebuilding trust, or deciding on next steps together.
